TOWNSLEY CEMETERY
In April of 2013, the Bear Creek Park Homeowners Association raised enough money to purchase the Townsley Cemetery.
There were numerous concerns regarding a new development in the area and the preservation of the historic cemetery. The previous owner, Ms. Exa Lee, had maintained the cemetery and built the wall around it when the Bear Creek Park was initially developed due to construction concerns.
After her death, and due to the coming new development, her estate sold the cemetery to the neighborhood. Subsequently various owners have restored the wall and kept the area clean of trash. It was a successful neighborhood effort with everyone pushing for the same outcome!
