ABOUT THE
HOMEOWNERS
ASSOCIATION
The Bear Creek Park Homeowners Association is a completely volunteer group. The HA is more like a neighborhood association than more traditional models. When Bear Creek Park was platted and filed by Mr. O.H. Poole in 1971, this was a common practice. At that time, it was expected that local government would handle deed restriction issues. Since that time, laws have changed and the more familiar HOA style organizations are set-up for new neighborhoods, leaving them to self-enforce issues involving deed restrictions.
BCP HA has very low dues, also voluntary. Funds are used to pay for a flood light at the corner of Johnson Lane and FM 1626. For any additional expenses, a specific use fundraising drive is used, i.e. when the Townsley Cemetery was purchased to enable the HA to better protect it.
